Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

It doesn’t seem possible that next week we will be celebrating Thanksgiving–then it will be Christmas time and then the end of another year!  Where does the time go???

I thought I would share some Thanksgiving ideas with you–some ideas for food and some for decorating.  So, whether you are hosting dinner for family or friends or going to someone’s home, I think you will enjoy these ideas!

If you are hosting Thanksgiving dinner, greet your guests with a fantastic-looking entry.  I love lanterns, and I thought this one from Home Talk made for a really attractive front porch.

Greet your guests with this Thanksgiving  banner from Cost Plus World Market.  I have been using banners on my fireplace for various holidays and seasons.

I love fall and the fall colors.  That is why I love decorating for fall and Thanksgiving and being able to use these colors as part of the decorating theme.  I thought this table decor from Ana Rosa is beautiful.

Also, the tray and candles from Whats Ur Home Story would make a great statement on that table or ottoman.

Let the kiddos get in on the decorations as well.  This cute idea from First For Women would be great for the kids to make and have ready when the guests arrive.

I found a couple of fun ideas for table settings.  If you are hosting a buffet-type dinner I thought this idea from The Felt Store was a fun idea.

If you are having a formal-type dinner, I love this idea from Fantabulosity for personalized place cards.

While the turkey is roasting in the oven, have this fun “pumpkin” dip and veggies ready for your guests.  This is a great idea from the Bright Ideas blog.

Turkey, dressing and all of the trimmings are usually the main menu for Thanksgiving.  I always have to make Watergate Salad as part of my menu.  If you need the recipe, Kraft Recipes has this on their website.

Desserts are a must for the dinner – especially pumpkin pie as far as I am concerned! The kiddos might enjoy these special turkey cupcakes if they don’t like pumpkin pie.    My Frugal Adventures has this idea on Pinterest.

Whatever your plans for this special day, I hope you will stop and give thanks for all of your many blessings.  I think this printable from  Frugaltiy Gal sums it all up.
