Decorating For Spring

My daughter, Laura, (Dooley Design Company) has started decorating for spring.   This week I thought I would share some of her ideas as she begins decorating from the outside to the inside of her home.

Laura likes to have the front of her home make a statement for each season.  The front door always has a wreath or some type of door piece that welcomes friends as they walk up to her home.  For spring this year she has added a fun-striped ribbon to her wreath and also a bunch of “carrots” to let everyone know that spring is here!  Two large urns grace each side of the front door.  Laura is ready to plant flowers in them, but as we all have been told–wait until Mother’s Day to plant your flowers!!

One wall of Laura’s entryway contains a collage of pictures–which always gets changed out depending on the season/holiday.  The collage consists of family pictures and sayings that are appropriate for the season.  A basket under the entryway table holds the various sports balls so the boys can find them easily when wanting to go outside and play!  A metal bucket holds several umbrellas so when the spring rains arrive, the family will be ready!

The entryway table usually gets a “redo” each season as well.   A succulent arrangement, candle holder and table lamp decorate the table for spring.

The bench along the stairway in the entryway always gets “new” pillows each season.  I think the colorful floral print pillow really says “spring is here” so come on in!
