Get Ready for Back to School!

It doesn’t seem possible that summer is almost over and soon the kiddos will be going back to school. Are you ready?

I think the biggest project when getting ready for back to school is getting organized!  I have found several good ideas on Pinterest so I thought I would share them with you.

The kiddos have fun going to the store and getting the needed school supplies.  Here is a great idea from Babble for keeping all of those pens, pencils, markers and more in a neat and tidy place.

Maybe your older kiddos have a desk in their rooms.  Here is an idea for a homework station from Project Inspired.   Everything is in one place and nicely organized.

My grandsons usually take their lunches most of the time.  My oldest grandson loves basketball and Michael Jordan, and my daughter found these two selections at TJMAXX.

My middle grandson loves dinosaurs and is fascinated with sharks.   My daughter found these cute lunch boxes  at Target.

It is always fun to put a note in the lunch boxes–just to let your kiddo know you are thinking of him/her.  I designed these lunch box notes that can be personalized.  You can find these on my Etsy Shop – JKSJKSDesign.

I think most moms rely on a calendar during the school year (and all year long) to keep track of the many activities going on during the school year.  I found this printable calendar from Teachers Pay Teachers, and although it has been designed for teachers it would work nicely for moms as well.

Getting the kiddos organized is a task in itself.  There needs to be a “routine” that is followed every day during the school year.  This “routine” will make everyone’s life easier and less stressful!   I found this from JDaniel4’s Mom on Pinterest.  I think this idea would really work!

Mornings can be a little hectic during the school year so why not use these preprinted labels from Amy Locurto and get clothes organized and ready for the entire school week.

What about all of those papers and art work that the kiddos bring home from school?  You will want to save them so here is a neat idea from Harris Teeter.  These bins will really get all of those papers organized for each kiddo in your family.

At the end of the first day of school, the kiddos will need some treats when they get home.  They need to enjoy their treats while telling you all about their day.  A tradition in our home that my daughter has continued in her home is to have brownies waiting the first day of school.  These brownies from Melanie Cooks look delicious so I am going to make sure my daughter gets the recipe.

I hope I have given you some good ideas to help you get ready for back to school!  I have pinned all of the ideas on my “Back to School” board (Janis Slaughter) on Pinterest so feel free to check them out!  Here’s to a great school year for everyone!
