These ideas come from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gardengatemagazine.com\">Garden Gate Magazine.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jksjksdesign.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/best-container-plants-calibrachoa.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1489\" width=\"283\" height=\"389\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jksjksdesign.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/best-container-plants-calibrachoa.jpg 400w, https:\/\/jksjksdesign.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/best-container-plants-calibrachoa-218x300.jpg 218w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 283px) 100vw, 283px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Calibrachoa is a great plant in a hanging basket or in a pot with other flowers.  A single plant will cover a small container&#8211;just make sure it gets constant moisture.  This is one of my sister&#8217;s favorites!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jksjksdesign.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/best-container-plants-coleus__2_.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1490\" width=\"286\" height=\"392\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jksjksdesign.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/best-container-plants-coleus__2_.jpg 400w, https:\/\/jksjksdesign.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/best-container-plants-coleus__2_-218x300.jpg 218w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 286px) 100vw, 286px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Coleus comes in a variety of colors&#8211;and it looks great in a planter all by itself.  It grows very fast, and if you think it is getting too tall, just pinch it back!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jksjksdesign.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/best-container-plants-geranium.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1492\" width=\"287\" height=\"393\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Geraniums are probably my favorite!  I have several large pots on my sidewalk going up to the front porch, and I always have them full of red geraniums!  On my back deck I use bright pink geraniums along with pots of bright pink and white petunias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jksjksdesign.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/best-container-plants-sweet-potato-vine.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1493\" width=\"295\" height=\"404\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Sweet potato vine is also another of my favorites!  I sometimes add it with my geraniums (I also use asparagus fern.)   You will find several colors of this vine.  It grows really fast so don&#8217;t be afraid to cut it back!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I hope this gives you some ideas when you start getting ready to plant your pots and containers for spring and summer.
