2016 – a NEW<\/strong> year–a time to think about NEW<\/strong> decorating ideas, NEW<\/strong> projects and more around the home! \u00a0My sister, Patty Carlson Mehelic, has been doing a decorating project for one of her clients.<\/p>\n

The client wanted a new bedroom sitting area! \u00a0I asked Patty to share this project with us so she has provided us with pictures and details about the project. \u00a0Patty said that the color inspiration for the new area was the client’s bedding from Pottery Barn<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Here is a “before” picture of the sitting area – a blank slate to work with, right? \u00a0As Patty told me, “This space was crying for chairs!”<\/p>\n

The homeowner had two chairs that had originally belonged to her mother. \u00a0The chairs were in good shape so Patty had them reupholstered, and as you can see—what a difference it made!<\/p>\n

Patty found coordinating pillows which were added to the chairs. \u00a0(Great look!) \u00a0A nesting table and lamp were purchased and placed between the two chairs. \u00a0Woven wood blinds were installed on the windows. \u00a0The paint color Patty chose was Sherwin Williams<\/a> 7058 Magnetic Gray.<\/p>\n

Drapery panels in a dark steel blue\/gray color were added to frame the windows and to add a layering effect to the blinds.<\/p>\n

What a great transformation! \u00a0I would love to enjoy such a cozy sitting area! \u00a0Kudos to Patty for a beautiful job! \u00a0Thanks, too, for sharing this project with us. \u00a0Patty tells me she has two or three more projects in the works. \u00a0I can’t wait to see them! \u00a0When I do, I will be sharing them with you. \u00a0Until then, Happy New Year and happy redecorating!<\/p>\n
