4th of July Celebration

In just a few days many of us will be hosting or attending 4th of July celebrations.

The 4th of July is the day we celebrate America.  We celebrate with cookouts, picnics, family gatherings, fireworks and much more.  I have found several ideas for decorating and also yummy food that I wanted to share with you.

Whether indoors or outdoors, it is always fun to decorate for this special celebration.  I always make sure I have flags in my flower pots and buntings on my decks and patio.  The kiddos also think it is fun to help decorate.

There are so many fun ideas for decorating the tables.  I thought this idea from Thrifty Decor Chick was very clever.  The tables would look great at night while watching the fireworks!

This printable from Kiki & Company would be a great addition to the food and/or drink table or an area where people are going to congregate.

I would guess that the majority of the time the menu for this celebration will include hamburgers, brats, hot dogs and all the trimmings.  Why not make this strawberry lemonade drink to go along with the meal.  I found this from Laylita’s Recipes.  It looks delicious!!!

Fruit is always a great choice for the menu.  How about cream cheese stuffed strawberries from Jamie Cooks It Up?

Fruit skewers are a great way to use several different kinds of fruit.  I found this idea from Writing With Lipstick.

Don’t forget the desserts!  I think these star-shaped berry hand pies look wonderful!  These would be easy to serve and to eat.  This idea comes from Ehow.

My daughter made these strawberry, blueberry, marshmallow and brownie bite skewers to take to a party, and they looked great!  She got rave reviews as well.  For a final touch, she drizzled chocolate syrup on each one!  Crazy For Crust has this idea.

Give the kids something to do while waiting for dinner.  I found these cute buckets containing flags, bubbles and more on Pinterest.  KB Custom Designs came up with this idea.

Whatever your plans for the 4th of July, I hope you have a great day–and evening if you are planning on watching fireworks.  Be sure and stop and give thanks for our country and pray for its future.  God Bless the USA!
