Yes, it’s time to plant! I love flowers, and I love planting my pots and containers this time of year!
It’s fun going to the garden center and trying to decide what plants and flowers to choose–there are so many different kinds and colors. I usually have certain colors of flowers that I like to plant each year. This year I am going with all red and white flowers with a touch of yellow.
As usual, I can always find great ideas on Pinterest. Petunias and geraniums are some of my favorites so thought I would share these ideas with you. This geranium idea is from the National Garden Bureau and the petunias are found on Learn2Grow.

Speaking of petunias, Clear Lake, Iowa has the most gorgeous hanging baskets around their main street and town square each spring/summer. I took a picture of one of their baskets last summer–I hope the baskets look as good this year!

I have a lot of hostas around my home. I found this idea at Ottawa Garden Design–I would never have thought about putting them in pots or containers.

Coleus are also great plants for containers. This idea is in the Houston Chronicle. Earthworm Technologies on their Facebook page shows a container with coleus, impatients and ivy. What a beautiful arrangement!

I also found these container ideas from Flowerscape and Tidbits & Twine (on Pinterest). I just wish my plantings could look this good!

Well, I have all of my pots and containers planted–now I just have to wait for them to grow and get beautiful! I have put all of these ideas on my “Outdoors” board on Pinterest (Janis Slaughter). I hope you are busy getting all of your flowers planted–don’t forget the Miracle Grow!!
