Summertime is such a busy time–vacations, baseball games, state fairs, Vacation Bible School, trips to the swimming pool–and the list goes on and on! The time goes so fast and before we know it, it is time for school to begin!
My three grandsons recently spent a week with us! While getting ready for their arrival, I needed something for them to do during “quite time” in the afternoons. I always love to check out the Dollar Spot at Target so while I was out running errands, getting groceries, etc., I decided to see what the Dollar Spot might have to offer. I was pleasantly surprised to find activity books that would work perfectly for each of my three grandsons. The oldest grandson is entering fourth grade and needs to brush up on his math skills. He loved this activity book. I also found some math worksheets at K5 Learning that I was able to print out for him so he could practice multiplication and division.
My middle grandson is entering first grade so this was a great activity book for him.
My youngest grandson will be in pre-k so I got this book for him to help him with his numbers and counting.
Of course, the boys love to use the computer! ABCYa is a great tool for kids to use–it has so many educational games/tools for them. The boys had fun testing their number and reading skills while playing the various activity games on this site.
I found a great summertime treat on Pinterest for the kids! This strawberry banana popsicle from Sally’s Baking Addiction should help cool them off during the hot, humid days.
I hope you are having a great summer! I am the first to admit that it is going way too fast! My grandsons are starting school in a couple of weeks which doesn’t seem possible. I found this printable at Ya Gotta Have a Hobby which I have framed in my home to remind me of summer and the memory-making times with my grandsons!
